Agamemnon, The Libation-Bearers and The Furies, translated by E. D. A. Morshead
Aeschylus · -458 · Fiction
The only Greek tragic trilogy to survive whole. Agamemnon comes home from Troy and is murdered by his wife Clytemnestra; their son Orestes returns to avenge him and is hunted by the Furies; and in Athens a court of citizens, with Athena's vote, ends the chain of blood-for-blood. One play per chapter, in Morshead's verse translation.
